Lisa Scott, science teacher at Esmond Station K8, is in the running for Arizona Teacher of the Year!
Mrs. Scott was nominated for state teacher of the year last spring. She then submitted an extensive application and video to the Arizona Educational Foundation for review and was selected as a Top 10 Finalist. Next, she headed to Phoenix for an interview with the Teacher of the Year judges and was notified that she is now a Teacher Ambassador of Excellence earning among four other teachers in the state as Top 5.
August 7th The Teacher of the Year will be announced at the Arizona Educational Foundation Teacher of the Year Awards Ceremony on August 7th where we will learn if Mrs. Scott will be named the Teacher of the Year.
Congratulations to Mrs. Scott on all that she has overcome and achieved to be the kind of teacher Arizona can hold up as a shining example of a high quality educator.
