My name is Tara Finn and I am looking forward to my second year teaching 8th grade Language Arts at Esmond Station. I have had the great pleasure of working in the Vail School District going on six years. I previously taught 6th grade Language Arts and Social Studies at Rincon Vista and moved over to Esmond Station last year.
I was born in Landstuhl, Germany (my father was in the Army) but I grew up here in Tucson. I attended school in the Flowing Wells School District where I experienced amazing teachers who inspired me to pursue a career in education. I graduated from the University of Arizona way back in 1994. GO WILDCATS! I love to read, putter around in the yard and spend time with my family. I have three awesome kids who are 22, 20 and 17.
I love to read, and I love to teach. I am lucky enough to get to do both every day. My all-time favorite quote is by James Patterson, “There’s no such thing as a kid who hates reading. There are kids who love reading, and kids who are reading the wrong books”. There is no greater joy than helping a kid find the right book, and see them begin to love reading.
