Ray Purtle

Hello Esmond Station Families! My name is Raymond Purtle and I have had the pleasure of teaching in the Vail School District for 7 years! I have my dual degree in elementary and special education from Bethany College, and have taught both multiple grade levels in the past 6 years! I have taught 5th grade for 4 years, and this will be my second year teaching 3rd grade. Teaching is something I love, and getting the opportunity to build strong relationships with my students is what makes my classroom such a safe place. That is where they will grow and succeed! My goal is to make sure every student loves to come to school! I thrive in making sure the kiddos learn while having fun!

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy playing basketball or working out! I love going to the park and watching my kids run wild. I have two wonderful children. Logan is 5 and obsessed with trains, he will be in kindergarten next year. My daughter Bailey is 3, she loves Spiderman! My wife is the glue! Her name is Kristina. Her favorite thing to do is puzzles! I have two pets which are named Nova, and Blue.

I graduated from Bethany College, which is located in Kansas. I played 4 years of collegiate basketball. I love to coach and still play. I am excited for a new school year, and can’t wait to welcome all of the new families into my classroom.
