I am a proud fifth-generation Tucsonan and third-generation graduate from the University of Arizona. Go Cats! I graduated from the U of A in 2003 and began my first teaching job at Desert Willow Elementary in the Vail School District. After teaching first grade for two years, I moved to New Jersey with my husband, where I taught middle school science and social studies for twelve years. In 2018 we moved our family back to Vail and I taught for two years at Old Vail Middle School.

I am excited to begin a new adventure teaching science and social studies at Esmond Station this year! This will be my 16th year of teaching. I am also the proud mom of two Esmond Station students, Jake, who is in 2nd grade this year, and Evan, who is starting Kindergarten. My husband, Keith, is the strength and conditioning teacher at Mica Mountain High School, and also owns his own sports performance and fitness facility in Tucson. In my free time, I love to spend time with my family, read, exercise and craft. I like to sew, knit, crochet, and make things with my Cricut.

I love working with middle school-aged children, and I have a passion for science that I enjoy sharing with my students.  As an educator, nothing makes me happier than to see the excitement in a child’s eyes over a new scientific discovery they’ve made, or when past students reach out to tell me that they are majoring in physics or want to be an engineer. I believe that learning begins with strong relationships, so I work to cultivate connections with my students and their families. I am super excited to now be a part of the Esmond family, not just as a parent, but as a teacher too!
