This year will begin my 7th year as a special education teacher at Esmond Station. I have lived in Arizona most of my life. I did spend some time living in Colorado and North Carolina. Let me tell you, nothing compares to these Arizona sunsets! I graduated from Campbell University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2009. My daughter was little at the time and I decided to stay home to be with her.
I began my journey in the world of special education as a special education paraprofessional in 2013. I had an amazing opportunity to help open up a brand new school. I moved over to Esmond Station and we began the 2014-2015 school year. The need for special education teachers was on the rise; I decided to go back to school and received my master’s degree in Special Education in 2016. I am so fortunate that I made the decision to move over to Esmond Station. I truly enjoy being a teacher and love to see that “light bulb” moment with our students.
I have been married for 19 years. We have 1 daughter who will begin her next chapter as a freshman this year. It’s the first time she won’t ride with me to school in many years. I know she is excited about that! I look forward to working with our amazing staff, students and parents this next school year.
